2.2: Solve Two-Step Equations
Solve a two-step equation for the value of $$x$$. The solution will be a positive integer and the values in the problem will all be positive integers.
$$2x + 3 = 11$$
$$3x + 6 = 21$$
Solve a two-step equation for the value of $$x$$. The solution may be a positive integer and the values in the problem may be fractions or decimals.
$$3x + 2 = 17$$
$$3x - 2 = 13$$
$$\frac{x}{3} + 2 = 7$$
Solve a two-step equation for the value of $$x$$. The solution may be positive or negative and the values in the problem may be fractions or decimals.
$$0.4x + 3.9 = 5.7$$
$$\frac{x}{2.8} - 4.9 = -7.1$$
$$-5.4 - 7.8x = -78.4$$
